After obtaining a degree in electronic engineering, held for over 25 years he works at the Fondazione Bordoni of Rome as head of research projects and member of international standardization committees (ITU-T, MPEG). Over the years, projects and research activity have focused on multimedia services (remote learning, telemedicine), MPEG-4 video coding, digital TV and Radio systems, inter-personal video-communication systems, RFID technologies on which he recently published a book summarizing their main aspects. Currently he coordinates activities on Quality of Service evaluation and control techniques for television services over Broadcast and  IP networks. He is author of several scientific papers.
