• Introduction

    The project entitled Cadastre and quality monitoring of broadcast television stations aims to extend and enhance the achievements of the former project on the Cadastre of frequencies by means of the planning and development of hardware and software instruments allowing to verify the consistency of the data contained in the National Frequency Register with simulated and measured coverage data.

    The strategic objectives of the project include:

    • Acquisition of data from the monitoring network of television signals (comprising both fixed and mobile sensors) developed by Project 4 on "Methodology for the evaluation of the Quality of Service";
    • Design and development of a prototype of a national Database of TV reception containing the measurements from both the local branches of the Ministry of Communications and from the monitoring network;
    • Design and development of prototype Simulation procedures to verify the consistency between the Database of TV reception and the National Register of Frequencies, exploiting both measurements and simulations.

    In order to achieve the strategic objectives above listed, it is necessary to define some preliminary objectives:

    • Alignment of data contained in the TV transmitters database with those coming from other sources, both at central and local levels;
    • Consistency and correctness check of the database, by correcting wrong entries and inserting missing ones;

    Inclusion in the central database of data resident in local branches, in order to ensure the persistence of the alignment even when data are updated, corected and modified by the peripheral offices.
