Andrea Neri received the Electronics Engineering degree from the University of Bologna in 1981, and the PhD degree in Electronics and Computer Science in 1987. After a scholarship issued by Fondazione Marconi – Selenia S.p.A., since 1985 he is with Fondazione Ugo Bordoni as a researcher. He authored more than 50 scientific publications. Starting from 1994-95 he has been in charge of courses at the University of Bologna.
In FUB he contributed to the management of the national network for EMF monitoring, to the planning and execution of the national transition to digital television, and to the design and implementation of spectrum auctions held by the Ministry of Economic Development. From 2012 to 2018 he led the project for the QoS assessment of Italian mobile networks on behalf of AGCOM.
He deals with architecture of spectrum auctions, coexistence of different services, such as between 4G/5G networks and DVB systems, and the technical support to the Ministry of Economic Development for the rearrangement of the national TV system.
