Researcher in the Cybersecurity Area at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, he received his MSc (cum laude) in Control and Computer Engineering in 2010 and a PhD in ICT in 2014 from the University of L’Aquila, where he was researcher and lecturer until 2024, coordinating scientific activities in national and EU projects and supervising BSc, MSc, and PhD theses. He completed the international PhD curriculum on networked, hybrid, and embedded control systems for complex, distributed, and heterogeneous systems. He held research positions at UC Berkeley (2012–2013) and the University of Pennsylvania (2014–2017). In 2015 he received the Best Application Paper Award from the European Control Conference. He holds the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor. His expertise includes control theory, Artificial Intelligence, and modeling and control of complex systems via Machine Learning, with applications to building automation, structural monitoring, and industrial systems. He is the author of numerous international conference and journal publications.
