Since 2026 she has been Head of the Cybersecurity Area at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni.
She graduated cum laude in Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. For over forty years, she has been active in research and innovation in telecommunications, cybersecurity and emerging technologies, holding positions of increasing responsibility in complex scientific and industrial environments, including Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, Ericsson Lab Italy/Marconi and Leonardo.
Throughout her professional career, she has gained solid experience in research project management, drafting technological, research and strategic plans, capacity building and skills development, as well as intellectual property protection. She has served as reviewer and guest editor for IEEE journals and has been a member of technical committees of national and international conferences. She is author of more than 150 scientific publications and co-author of the book Nonlinear Optical Communication Networks (Wiley, 1998). She contributed to the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of Electronic Components & Systems for European Leadership (ECSEL) for the Cybersecurity and Systems-of-Systems section. In recent years, she has worked within the Scientific Directorate and subsequently within the Directorate for Research, Innovation and Strategy, contributing to scientific auditing activities. She is a member of the ACN-FUB Convention Committee. She has participated in several national and European projects and PNRR programmes (PE7 SERICS and PE14 RESTART), also serving as FUB Scientific Coordinator for the SERICS Extended Partnership. She is a member of the working group on enabling technologies supporting the Directorate-General for Enabling Technologies of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), appointed by Director’s Decree of 23 October 2024.
