Licia Capodiferro
Licia Capodiferro received her Dr. Ing. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" , Italy , in 1986 and was awarded "Premio Marconi Italiana 1985- 1986" for the best Italian thesis in the field of signal and image processing. In 1987 she joined the Fondazione Ugo Bordoni where she currently works as head of the Audio Video Signal Processing Research Area. Her main research interests are in the field of multimedia communications, with a focus on video information technology. She has been involved in several research studies and projects in the areas of video signal processing including HDTV signal processing, sub-band coding, video format conversion, video segmentation, MPEG coders, image restoration, pattern recognition, face recognition, wavelet decomposition and objective quality evaluation. She has published exstensively in these fields contributing to conferences, journal, books and technical reports. Since 2001 she is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Roma Tre : teaching "Signal Theory" ("Teoria dei Segnali", 2001-2006) and "Electronic Systems for Cultural Heritage" ("Sistemi Elettronici per i Beni Culturali", 2008 - today).
