Federica Mangiatordi

 

Federica Mangiatordi  received the M.Sc. Degree in Electronic engineering 'cum laude' at University of Rome La Sapienza, Italy with a thesis on recognition and estimation of linear patterns in images. After graduated she gained the II level University Master Degree in "Technology, Applications and Services in Heterogeneous wireless Networks" at the University of L'Aquila with a project work on distributed video coding techniques . In 2007 she joined FUB where she is a engineering research scientist at the Department of Information Processing and Management.  In 2010/2012 she was one of technical coordinator of “Intelligent Retrieval in Multimedia Archives project, supported by European Regional Development 2007-2013 funding. She gained experience in the aerea of  signal processing,  particularly in wavelet based techniques for image analysis and representation, image and video classification, image restoration techniques, novel metrics for full reference and no-reference objective image quality assessment.  Recently, her research activity  has also addressed issues related to  energy efficiency with a focus on computational intelligence techniques for automated demand management. In 2014 she received the Ph.D in EDEMOM (European Doctorate in Electronic Materials, Optoelectronics and Microsystems) from the University of Roma TRE with a dissertation on artificial intelligence techniques for efficient energy management in microgrid. IEEE member, she is co-author of several works presented at National and International conferences.
