Graduated in Electronic Engineering at Sapienza University (Rome), in 1985 she joined FUB (Artificial Intelligence area), where she is currently a senior researcher and Head of the Digital Services Area. She has coordinated numerous national and international projects, collaborating with universities and research bodies. She published more than 100 research papers on journals and conference proceedings, supervised several theses, participated in scientific boards.

In 1990 she was visiting scholar at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) where she participated in the Hubble Space Telescope project with funding from NASA. From 1992 to 1996 she was an associate researcher at ISTC-CNR on topics of intelligent autonomous agents. From 1992 to 2012 she was a professor in charge at the Faculty of Information Engineering of Sapienza. From 2002 to 2006 she was vice-president of the association Ambiente Digitale. From 2006 to 2018 she was head of the International Projects Office of the FUB. From 2015 to 2018 he was responsible for the Framework Agreement between FUB and the AgID (Agency for Digital Italy).
