Ermanno Fionda

 

Degree in Physics at “Sapienza” University of Rome and PhD degree in Information Engineering at the University of Perugia. Visiting Scientist at the NOAA/ERL centre, Boulder (Co) US. From 1981-82, he collaborated with the IFA/CNR of Rome (I) studying interactions between electromagnetic waves and tropospheric components in the boundary layer at IR band.  Since 1983, scientist researcher at FUB, specialising in inversion methods for microwave radiometers and GNSS systems, numerical model of precipitating structures (2D,3D), radiative transfer modelling of scattering media, scintillation and rain-fading analysis along satellite microwave links. Moreover, he focused on synergistic among VLBI, GNSS, microwave radiometers and RAOB. Author of more than 100 scientific papers (peer review). He has participated at several European and national projects (ESA acts, FP7, COST) and Committees (ITU, ETS). Currently, he is involved in the propagation channel studies for 5G mobile systems.
